Museum of textile printing
Exhibition Graphic Design
Client: Museu de l’Estampació, Premià de Mar
The museum is the only museum in Spain specialized in textile printing.
Patterned cotton fabrics arrived from India became so popular in Europe that they involved a radical change in fashion as well as in the dress habits from late in the 17th century and until the beginning of the 19th century.
Graphic design of the exhibition is inspired by the patterned fabrics from the eighteenth century and later.
From scanning the tissues found in the collection of the Museum, I rebuilt old patterns, which served as background for the exhibition texts. I designed all panels of the exhibition adapting styles, patterns and typography to the different stages of evolution of the patterns and printing techniques.
